TITLE: Tord Gustavsen
DESCRIPTION: Tord Gustavsen photo-shoot for JazzTimes Magazine. Shot at several locations nearThe Latham Hotel on 3000 M Street in Georgetown, DC. I have had a recurring theme with reflections in my images of late, and love the collision between perception and reality which it creates. Here it is a little difficult to determine whether the buildings actually are in the background, or merely reflected in the shop window. Jazz music is often a little like this, giving you one impression, and then taking you down another road entirely at the slip of a key. My favourite part of the image is the cartoonish painting of the woman in the background. I manouvered myself so that she was clearly in the frame... it's like she's commenting on the proceedings! Images from this shoot are to appear in an article about Tord in the April 2005 issue of JazzTimes Magazine.
